Andy Ibanez gets some Hall of Fame defensive help at Texas Rangers camp

The front-runner to be the primary third baseman in 2022 made a diving stop Monday against Cleveland.

Andy Ibanez didn’t just have a good day at the plate Monday, he also was sharp in the field at third base (Texas Rangers/Ben Ludeman).

Adrian Beltre and Michael Young weren’t in minor-league camp over the weekend for a Texas Rangers family reunion. They actually did some work.

One area of focus for Beltre was third base, where he played for all 21 seasons in a terrific career. The Hall of Fame awaits in two years.

The pupil? Andy Ibanez.
