The unusual nature of Spring Training 2022 has kept Texas Rangers officials mostly cooped up in their offices at the Surprise Recreation Campus.

That building has become like Fort Knox. High-level, top-secret meetings take place on the second floor, which is strictly limits for media and has been for a few years now.

There haven’t been the semi-frequent run-ins with president of baseball operations Jon Daniels as in years past, or general manger Chris Young for that matter.

But Daniels was very accommodating Wednesday around lunchtime, sitting with the Texas Rangers Newsletter for midcamp update.
