The 2022 schedule is out. Texas Rangers are opening at home against an old friend
Opening Day next season is scheduled for March 31 against Joey Gallo and the New York Yankees.
The last day of March is the first day of the 2022 MLB season, which the Texas Rangers will open at home against the New York Yankees and two-time All-Star Joey Gallo.
The Rangers traded Gallo and left-hander Joely Rodriguez last week to the Yankees for four prospects after being unable to agree to a contract extension. Gallo has one more year of salary arbitration remaining.
New York will visit for four games before the Rangers head to Miami and Toronto for their first road trip of the season. In addition to playing the Marlins in interleague play, the Rangers will also play three-game series against National League East foes the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals at home and the New York Mets on the road.
The Rangers will play a two-game home-and-home series against the Philadelphia Phillies and their “natural rival” in 2022, the Colorado Rockies.
The first AL West foe on the Rangers’ schedule is the Los Angeles Angels, April 14-17 at Globe Life Field. That series is the first of 14 straight games against the West, including the first of three home series against the Houston Astros on April 25-28.
The schedule is below.
That's gonna be fun-and Denver again! How different do you think this roster will be, Jeff? I can't see a scenario where they don't spend money. Do you?
