The Blue Jays took 2 of 3, but the weekend wasn't a total loss for the Rangers.

Brad Miller, right, supplied plenty of offense for the Rangers against Marcus Semien’s old team (Frank Gunn/The Canadian Press).

Losing two out of three games does not make for a successful weekend, but, hey, at least the Texas Rangers didn’t get swept.

Last season’s team probably would have been.

Of all that could be taken away from the opening weekend of the Rangers’ season, foremost is that they are better.

Much better.

True, it has been only three games and a shortened spring, but if the Rangers don’t win more than 60 games this season, I’ll walk home from Globe Life Field on the final day of the season.

Of course, losing 2 of 3 games means there is room to improve.

As such, here are three ups and three downs from Rogers Centre.
