Given that there is so much more organizational input into players' off-season preparation, training, nutrition, and skill analysis than ever before, my hope is that the bulk of players will pressure their union reps to step up and negotiate a settlement sooner than later, so they can get back to their individual career objectives and to best prepare for the coming season, within the framework that is now such an elemental part of their ongoing skills development.

For instance, some of the main reasons given (aside from $ of course) by these big FA signings, was the way the Rangers treated their players, the communications with staff, and the facilities and individual insights available to them. While we may like to believe that's a Rangers exclusive, it's not, it's pretty much industry wide, (we do hope that Rangers are doing it better now). So lockout means that players are losing that access and the improvements that come with it. I'd have to think the rank & file want to get back to work.
