Jung should be the Rangers 3B when the season starts. If it takes a certain level of play in ST to prove you deserve to play in the big leagues, then shouldn't he either make the club out of spring training or have to wait to prove it in the spring of 2023? Guys prove they deserve a chance based on how they do in the upper levels of the minors. Jung did that last year. If last year's success wasn't enough, nothing is. Logically, there are only two options for the Rangers when it comes to IKF. He is either a utility player or he is trade bait. He is a free agent in 2 years, or maybe 1 if the CBA changes in that regard, and they should get something for him now, while his trade value is the highest. They can give lip service to IKF starting this year in order to increase his trade value, but it should be no more than that, kind of like they did with Elvis just before they traded him.
