Jeff, is a Startlegram staffer editing your writing?

They can't all win the Pulitzer. I fixed what might have you concerned.

Jeff, I was just pulling your chain as I always griped about the lack of editing in the local rag. Glad I have the annual subscription as it is my only real link into what is going on with our team.

The problem is that most stories in the local rag aren’t edited. I usually read over my stuff before publishing because I know I’ve screwed something up, large or small, and it annoys the ever-loving shit out of me. I appreciate readers holding me accountable.

Ready for some hot stove and spring training news!

Thanks, Jeff, the Manfred hate is welcomed. I actually laughed out loud in my office. But, seriously, I love baseball and this shit is getting old. I've spent good money going to spring training, buying MLB TV, going to games when it costs a fortune, but if this thing isn't resolved soon, I think I'm done. I hate to say it. If the players and owners can do without a season, I can do without MLB. It would be like giving up drinking, but I can do it. I was really looking forward to a trip to AZ.

There's going to be a season. There will be spring training in some form or fashion. It'll all be resolved by the end of the month.

What do you see as Plan A and PLan B after the lockout. For me plan A is Kershaw and Suzuki and get rid of W. Calhoun. Plan B is a trade for S.Gray , add Kikuchi on a MLB contract and Archer and Velasquez on split contracts. Sign Schwarber or Castellanos and add 2 of the group of C. Martin, Joe Kelly, Jake Diekman or Ian Kennedy. PLAN C trade for OLSON, sign KIkuchi, Pineda and Tyler Anderson and hope for the best and platoon Willie C and JOc Pederson in LF.

I think that's more than the Rangers are going to do. I'm not sure what Plan B is after Kershaw and Suzuki, but I don't think it's Castellanos (draft pick compensation). I also don't believe they are going to sign more than one starting pitcher. I like the idea of a quality reliever, but that doesn't fit the Rangers' track record. Maybe that's something that will change under Chris Young.

Would you trade Adolis Garcia and perhaps B. Martin for Kiermier and Yarbrough? Where do you think IKF eventually ends up?
