A new season is on the horizon for minor-league players, who are not affected by the MLB lockout unless they are on the 40-man roster.
For the Texas Rangers, that list includes catcher Sam Huff, infielder Ezequiel Duran and right-hander Ricky Vanasco.
Justin Foscue is not on the 40-man, though that could be happening as soon as this season if all goes as he hopes. The second baseman (for now) finished his first professional season at Double A Frisco and spent the first part of the offseason playing in the Arizona Fall League.
We knew that from his first appearance on the Texas Rangers Baseball Podcast.
But he has been getting ready for 2022 in Nashville and will be at the Surprise Recreation Campus in Arizona on Monday for a mini-camp for priority prospects in the system.
He has also been getting ready for Oct. 8, 2022. That will be the biggest day of the year for him no matter where he ends up playing.
