TK Roby just shot to the top of the Texas Rangers Baseball Podcast’s lists of favorites Thursday, as he carved time out of a weekend getaway — with his girlfriend — to appear on the 13th episode.
The right-hander, his girlfriend, his best friend and the best friend’s girlfriend are in Gatlinburg, Tenn., for some R&R after what was a tumultuous 2021 season. Roby started at Low A Down East, had a few weeks of uncertainty surrounding a torn ligmaent in his elbow, and then months of rehab in the desert sun.
He capped it off with a healthy stint in the fall instructional league and entered the offseason confident that he is healthy.
After all of that, Roby needed a break. He’ll begin a throwing program after Thanksgiving and hopes to head back to Arizona in mid-January to get a jump-start on spring training.
